When you think of Halloween, you think of candy, fun and scary costumes and going trick-or-treating in your neighborhood. Houses decorated with scary ghosts, bats and of course, pumpkins. You don’t want the neighborhood kids to miss your house. So, turn your manufactured house into an eye-catching Halloween display. Here are some ideas on how to do that this Halloween.
Color SchemeThere are certain colors that are associated with Halloween. Mainly these colors are orange and black. You can definitely find lots of decorations in these colors. But you could also incorporate some other colors that are not used as much, but still affiliated with Halloween, such as green, purple and white. You might want to offset the color of your house with some purple jack-o’-lanterns or a giant green spider web. The important thing is to take a look at your home and decide what color scheme you want to use to make your Halloween as fun as possible.
Pumpkins, Pumpkins, PumpkinsPumpkins are used as decorations throughout the fall, but they can help with your Halloween decorations as well. If you have the budget, you could buy a bunch of pumpkins and create a haunted pumpkin patch for the kids to walk through as they come to your house for trick-or-treating. Or just a few pumpkins could add some color to your Halloween decorations.
If you have kids and/or a big family, a pumpkin carving contest could be a great family activity in the days leading up to Halloween. Everyone can come up with their own designs and then do their best to carve what they have drawn out on the pumpkin. Be sure the young kids have adult supervision. And after the contest, you can make pumpkin pies for all to enjoy.
Halloween PartyPerhaps in the past you have thought about throwing a Halloween party at your manufactured home but gave up because you thought you didn’t have enough room. Why not move the party from inside your manufactured home to outdoors? There are just a few things to keep in mind for an outdoor Halloween party.
• Light it up.
Yes, it’s Halloween and you want things to look scary and creepy, but your guests have to be able to see after it gets dark. You can incorporate some creepy lanterns into your decorations. This way the party is well-lit and you still have that Halloween feel.
• Stay warm.
After the sun goes down, the temperatures might get cooler, so be sure to prepare for this. If you have the space, you could setup a small bonfire or make a fire pit. You also might want to have some Halloween themed blankets available to keep your guests warm.
• Fun and games.
The most important part of any party is that people have fun. You can plan some Halloween themed games. And be sure to have a few activities for the kids so they are occupied and have a good time as well.
• Decorations and candy.
Yes, of course, decorations! Think about your party theme and your decorations should match. Are you going for fun or really scary or a mix of both? And don’t forget the candy! Candy is probably the most important thing about Halloween to the kids. So be sure to have some candy for you guests as well as the kids out trick-or-treating.
Have FunRemember to have fun. Fun with your friends. Fun with your family. That’s what Halloween is really all about.
